The New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) exists to defend, protect, and preserve our second amendment right to bear arms from public officials that disdain, disregard and disrespect the constitution. Furthermore, NJ2AS is equally committed to reclaiming all of the rights we have lost to radical New Jersey politicians that have willfully chosen to empower criminals.
It is by these measures we judge the fitness of candidates for public office.
Additionally, a central role of our mission at NJ2AS is to ensure the safe use of firearms for self-defense. While New Jersey police officers often do a great job responding to incidents, they cannot be there the moment a violent crime commences and life is potentially hanging in the balance. It is our job as citizens, each and every one of us, to be the first line of defense in a free society when a dangerous situation unfolds.
Because a victim of crime cannot sue the police or the state for failing to protect them from a crime, we believe it is important to allow citizens the right to carry a firearm for self-defense.
We believe it is especially important that women be able to exercise their second amendment rights, too. There are countless, tragic examples of what happens when all a woman has is a piece of paper — a restraining order — to defend her from a violent threat.
NJ2AS will never forget Carol Bowne, and that is why it is time to end New Jersey’s deadly permit process and work towards following the Constitution as written.
Phil Murphy and Sheila Oliver are not only members of the elitist Democratic Party establishment that has — in Trenton — made New Jersey less safe by stripping law-abiding citizens of our Second Amendment rights. They’ve actually promised to pass even more laws that would make it harder for women to defend themselves while empowering violent criminals.
It speaks volumes that Murphy and Oliver are committed to turning New Jersey into a sanctuary state for murders, rapists and other violent criminals illegally living in our country and state, but don’t support law-abiding citizens exercising their constitutional rights. In their campaign statements, New Jersey Democrats continue to take pro-criminal, anti-law enforcement positions that NJ2AS finds repulsive.
That’s why we’re glad voters have a capable alternative in Kim Guadagno and Carlos Rendo for Governor and Lt. Governor.
We support and endorse Guadagno and Rendo because we believe they are best positioned to defend the Second Amendment, Bill of Rights and make New Jersey safe again. NJ2AS calls on all of our members and supporters, across the political spectrum, to get behind Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno and Carlos Rendo for the future of New Jersey.
