We are happy to announce that NJ2AS successfully lobbied to have an anti-gun bill removed from the NJ Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism, and Historic Preservation committee.
The proposed bill, S-1976, which aimed to have New Jersey’s pension systems divest from the firearm industry, was scheduled for a public hearing at 11:00 am on Monday morning. Please view a video of NJ2AS President, Alexander Roubian, testifying against a similar bill in 2013 here:
At that time we were successful in having the legislation amended. This time we were successful in having the entire bill pulled from the committee.
However, while we have been advised they pulled the legislation from committee “for now,” we will not stop here. Victory will be achieved when the actual sponsor removes the bill from ever being considered again.
